Exeter based manufacturing business APR composite was recently asked to produce the stage statues for the Olivier Awards
Presented by the Society of London Theatre, the prestigious and world renowned Lawrence Olivier Awards ceremony is to recognise excellence in professional theatre.
Working closely with another SW based client company, and in a truly international collaboration an American design company, the APR composite team produced the larger than life reproductions of the actual awards themselves, to represent an whole audience of Oliviers!
135 statues were made in lightweight fibreglass and finished to a distressed gold look which then lined the entire stage at the Royal Opera House, making for an impressive backdrop to the stars of the theatre as they made their speeches and received their awards.
With only one month from start to completion APR composite were able to produce ten production moulds and all the statues ahead of schedule, bringing the entire contract through on time and on budget.
