What we did

Over the years we have worked on a large number of projects for an array of large clients. You can see examples of who we have worked with below.

Spa Hotel

The design team at Bourne Leisure’s flagship Ocean Spa Hotel in Bognor Regis wanted something imaginative and distinctive but still practical in place of a boring, normal safety barrier underneath the spiral staircase in the centre of the foyer. In close consultation, a set of giant ‘teardrops’ were created, graduating in size to match the spiral, supplied in an array of bright colours, light but stable, they became a feature of the foyer.

Southernhay redevelopment

We were asked by long-standing clients, Wood & Wood to provide hard wearing, stone effect signage, subtle and in keeping with the tone of the Southernhay Gardens area. Stronger, lighter and more cost effective than real stone, we drew on our experiences from the Liverpool European City of Culture contract to produce an etched limestone finish specifically for the project.

Wetherspoons

When Wetherspoons took over a large old pub in Exeter the project managers wanted to keep some of the antique floor gratings over the lower beer cellar. We took the original gratings, renovated them and cast pigmented resin infill to make them fully sealed, as required, but keeping the original appearance.

Nando’s

In what many may think has nothing to do with composites, we created and cast several hundred GFRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) to wrap around the curved bar in a brand new London restaurant. Combining our broad spectrum of manufacturing disciplines to successfully make these; GFRC is indeed a composite!

Strictly Come Dancing

Amongst our many creations for the entertainments industry we have produced several set pieces for Strictly Come Dancing, including a Spitfire propeller and spinner, a giant, red, high heeled shoe and even a full scale replica of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones!

We Will Rock You

Ben Elton’s hit stage show, We Will Rock You needed a ‘rock’ face…. but it needed to be strong enough to climb on, light as a feather, be fireproof and look like the real thing! All in a day’s work her at Composite Projects!
